Our 5 Day Island (Kisiwa) Safari - Mnemba Island

I'm back, hope you have all had a great week. I have not been able to post since i didn't have a way of uploading photos to my ipad while I was travelling Grrrrrr!!

So Camie and I set off about lunchtime of the 13th of June and had a little wait at Arusha Airport...... very busy little airport but a far cry from George Bush International in Houston!! So we had a cool drink and a couple of samosas, very yum I might add!!
yummy beef and veggie samosas

We spent one night in Dar at the Serena Hotel and then set off for Mnemba Island with George and wow what a truly memorable experience.
A driver and guide Yusto met us at the airport and took us on a one and a half hour very entertaining drive, of laughter, Island history/politics/religion/he pointed out spices and taught us Swahili until he dropped us off on the beach where a boat was waiting to take us across to Mnemba Island and what a stunning site!!
More shades of blue that you could ever imagine........... and the dhows just coming in with the catch of the day!!

Wow, where do I start eye candy from begining to end (not human eye candy, nature candy at its best). No shoes, no shirts, no problem!! Walks around the Island, snorkeling for hours on end. Delicious meals three times a day, massages in our rooms with the peaceful coo of the doves and the surf rolling in. Sundowners in front of our Bandas and dinner on the beach every night.
